My approach is mainly psychoanalytical. Psychoanalysis is a method for observation and investigation of the human mind. We work toward an understanding and explanation of how the mind works and through there we aim to find relief and development. It is a therapeutic approach that treats the patient’s inner conflicts and problems and aims to give the patient a better understanding of self, enabling him to attain new tools to handle situations that before would have led to stress, alienation, anxiety or hopelessness.
Each consultation lasts for 50 minutes. During the initial consultation I aim to find out as much as possible about the patient’s needs and specific area or areas of difficulty. This impotant moment is about listening to their experience and symptoms and finding the issues we need to tackle and work with in order to discover the causes of their suffering. It is about encouraging the patient to verbalize their thoughts and feelings and thus discovering the lapsus, contradictions and thoughts that cause the suffering in order to relieve them of the weight of this suffering whilst taking into account the patient’s wishes and interests. It is crucial that the patient says everything that crosses their mind even if it appears not to be of any importance or is uncomfortable to talk about.
In addition to consultations offered during the day time it is also possible to book a consultation at night or at the weekend.
